Best study spots on campus

Hey Comets! Are y’all looking for great study spots? We have some amazing options here at UTD. If you are looking to study somewhere outdoors, indoors, a noisy environment, or a quiet one, we can help you out.

Outdoors:

Basement of the library: This view is beautifully covered with vines and has the perfect amount of shade and sunlight. It is not too loud but also not super quiet.

Balcony of ESCW: The third and fourth floors of this very modern building that opened in the Fall of 2018 has great balcony study spots that will give you the perfect breeze. You will also get a nice view and if you are not afraid of heights, this is perfect for you.

Plinth: This is located in the center of campus, so it is always buzzing with activity. You will always find people walking by, concerts/performances happening in front of you, and people just hanging out all around you. It is most definitely a louder environment, but the Plinth is filled with tons of outlets. It is honestly one of the most happiest places on campus.

CV Honors Patio (Green Center): This is also a great outdoors lounge which has tables and umbrella shades. It is not as noisy as the Plinth, so if you want something more quiet, this is the place to go!

Indoors:

Skybridges: The Skybridges have a wonderful 360 degree view and are not too loud or quiet. They only have small tables for one to two people, so if you are studying by yourself, skybridges are the way to go!

CV (Green Center) Lounge: The CV Lounge is also a nice and quiet place to study - they’ve got couches, chairs and tables! If you’re an honors student, you have access to the library and the quiet rooms inside. There is even a TV room and a little kitchen there!

All buildings: All of the buildings have their own great individual study spots. You can find an isolated area or a more crowded area; it is all up to you. For example, the first floor of the library is where people usually talk while working and the second floor is a lot more quiet.

Starbucks: Starbucks is one of the most popular places to study. It is always has a long line, the strong smell of coffee, and a buzz of people, but if you want a little bit of everything, this is the place for you.
